PornVisory lets its users earn tokens by watching ads before pornography videos
The pornography and cryptocurrency worlds collide in PornVisory — a novel cryptocurrency project that is planning on rewarding users with tokens for watching porn videos on their platform.
The project’s founder, Veronica Noschese, pointed out the “natural synergy” between the two industries is advantageous, particularly due to the need for anonymous financial systems when it comes to the consumption of pornography.
“In the porn industry, there are a lot of issues regarding privacy and reputation. For example, even the biggest name in the industry, Pornhub, saw its account blocked by PayPal. Also, you might not want to pay your Premium account to watch porn with the bank account you share with your wife.” Noschese explained.
Noschese pointed out how PayPal banned PornHub from its system in 2019, and the adult video giant’s decision to back the Verge (XVG) cryptocurrency in 2018. Earlier this year, Pornhub also began accepting Tether (USDT) as a payment option.
Noschese shared that the company platform is modelled after the Basic Attention Token (BAT). Brave Browser, which is a privacy-focused web browser with a built-in ad blocker, rewards users with BAT for enabling special types of advertisements.
In a similar way, users viewing content from PornVisory will view ads and be compensated in PVY tokens.
PornVisory is currently an Italian-language news outlet for the adult industry, but there are plans for the platform to add an English-language news section, a livestreaming platform and a third party pornography website.
Noschese revealed that the platform does not have any plans to conduct an initial coin offering (ICO), but will instead airdrop some of its tokens as a part of its marketing strategy. Currently, PornVisory is being personally financed by its founder, with a plan to look for angel investors if the platform gains traction.
Prior to this, Noschese worked as a marketing professional in the adult entertainment industry. This gave her the opportunity to establish a sizable network of advantageous connections that she hopes to leverage for future partnerships. In the future, she hopes that these partnerships could lead to allowing PVY holders to spend their tokens in adult entertainment shops or to give tips to performers on streaming platforms.
Mauro Baeli, the CEO of Deepit, told Cointelegraph that his firm believes PornVisory’s vision has a lot of potential.
“PornVisory will succeed if they’ll be able to sharpen the focus in a specific segment of their industry. The use of the blockchain tools will surely put them one step beyond.”
