Yesterday saw Enjin announce a partnership with Skymarch Entertainment while Aave joined forces with Axie Infinity

Yesterday was a busy day for crypto gaming collaborations with both Enjin and Aave launching respective partnerships with gaming collectives.

Enjin announced on Twitter that they were joining forces with Canadian gaming studio Skymarch Entertainment. The Skymarch team have more than 30 years of gaming industry experience having worked with Ubisoft, Riot Games and Electronic Arts, and this latest collaboration will see them integrate Ethereum-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into their games Zeal, Crystals of Fate and The Galaxy of Lemuria.

Zeal is a player versus player-focused action RPG, while Crystals of Fate is a multi-platform esports driven collectable card game and The Galaxy of Lemuria is a survival crafting MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) with multiple worlds. All three games are in the late stages of development with free demos already available to the public.

The partnership will also see Skymarch take part in the Enjin Multiverse, an interconnected gaming network of more than 30 participating projects that allows players to use the same item in a variety of different games.

Skymarch CEO, Jonathon McKay, commented: “We see blockchain technology at the forefront of what is to become mainstream in the future. Enjin’s direction toward creating a more scalable, user-friendly blockchain ecosystem solidified our company’s decision to join forces and empower our players with true ownership over their assets.

Meanwhile, Aave announced yesterday that they were teaming up with Axie Infinity, a Pokemon inspired digital pet universe in which players can battle for fantasy creatures as well as earning a variety of tokens.

For the next month, any Axie user who holds at least 0.65 AAVE or staked AAVE tokens can claim a limited edition Aave themed NFT. Also, Aave is sponsoring Season 13 of the Axie Community Alpha, and from November 9 onwards, there will be more than $4,000 in AAVE available for Axie players to battle for.

Axie Infinity said of the partnership: “We strongly believe that crossovers between Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and gaming create benefits for users not possible in the legacy financial and gaming systems.”

These collaborations could prove to be vital onboarding portals for gamers into the rest of the crypto economy as well as offering new possibilities in gaming. So as the intersection between DeFi and gaming develops, it will no doubt be an exciting space to watch.
