Leading cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has announced the introduction of 12 new token listings to its trading platform. The new coins include Aion, Raiden Network, Request Network, IOSToken and Loopring. The 12 tokens have a combined market capitalization of over $1.1 billion USD.
In a press release on April 7th, 2018, the digital asset trading platform announced the “significant addition to the Bitfinex trading platform, offering traders greater exposure to a broader range of trading and investment opportunities.”
Headquartered in Hong King, Bitfinex was founded in 2012 and currently support one of the widest selections of digital currencies available across the major cryptocurrency exchanges. Bitfinex have a daily trading volume in excess of $500 million USD.
“The introduction of such a large selection of tokens, representing a diverse array of blockchain-based projects, marks an exciting development for Bitfinex. We are proud to introduce these tokens as we believe that each serves to strengthen and enliven a unique aspect of the global blockchain ecosystem, and will offer new and exciting trading options for our users,” said Jean-Louis van der Velde, Chief Executive Officer of Bitfinex.
Bitfinex offers advanced trading features and charting tools for digital currency traders and global liquidity providers as well as peer-to-peer financing, OTC and margin trading. The trading platform focuses on providing advanced tools and innovation for professional traders. New traders to Bitfinex must have a minimum account equity in cryptocurrency equivalent to $10,000 USD in order to commence trading.

ERC20 based tokens
The new tokens available for trade on Bitfinex are as follows:
Aion (AION), IOSToken (IOST), Request Network (REQ), Raiden Network (RDN), Loopring (LRC), BnkToTheFuture Token (BFT), Cofound.it (CFI), WAX (WAX), SingularityNET (AGI), MedicalChain (MTN), ODEM (ODEM) and Dai (DAI).
All 12 tokens are based on the Ethereum technical protocol ERC20 which is increasingly popular with digital coin creators and ICOs. All 12 new tokens will also be enabled on the Bitfinex spinoff site Ethfinex, an Ethereum focused hybrid trading platform.
The news from Bitfinex follows a recent announcement by Coinbase who is adding technical support to its exchange for ERC20 but has yet to reveal when it will list any ERC20 based tokens or indeed which it will eventually choose.
