The global multi-year partnership will enable mutual brand outreach and demonstrate the growing connection between innovative technologies and sport
Cryptocurrency trading platform Bybit announced yesterday that they had become an International Champion Partner of the German football club Borussia Dortmund (BVB). The launch of the global multi-year partnership is an opportunity for BVB to increase its presence in Asia while offering Bybit the chance to expand its European business.
Borussia Dortmund is one of Germany’s most successful clubs and is currently second in the Bundesliga. Their Managing Director, Carsten Cramer, said of the announcement, “We are very pleased about this partnership with Bybit as our International Champion Partner. Especially in the current times, it’s great to collaborate with an innovative tech company as the world becomes increasingly digital. Together, we will penetrate even deeper into Asian markets and will further strengthen our brand internationally”.
Bybit’s and BVB’s shared values of allowing talent to flourish, not to mention their matching corporate colours of black and yellow, make the new partners well suited.
Ben Zhou, CEO and Co-founder of Bybit, commented: “We are thrilled to be a Champion Partner of Borussia Dortmund. As a young and ambitious company, we identify with the authenticity and youthful energy for which BVB is well-known around the globe, as well as the diligence and relentlessness that Borussia Dortmund players radiate. It is no wonder the club has one of the most passionate fan communities in the world. The intensity and the passion of BVB go beyond the football field. Through this partnership, we want to demonstrate that we are here for the long run. With a rich history and many success stories, BVB is our ideal partner. From one black and yellow to another — we are proud to call ourselves firstly fans of Borussia Dortmund and secondly Champion Partner.”
Earlier this week Zhou explained in his keynote speech at the Hong Kong FinTech Week that Bybit’s aim was to make trading simpler and smarter with customer-centric values, before announcing the recent launch of a mutual insurance function that would help clients with risk management.
Bybit will get its first bit of football exposure this Saturday when Borussia Dortmund play at home against Bayern Munich. Incidentally, Bayern also have links to the crypto world having partnered with blockchain digital collectables platform Stryking last year.
