Canadian Blockchain software development company, Equibit Development Corporation (EDC) have announced the closing of their angel funding round, securing $150,00 from a UK based investor at a valuation of USD $3 million. Founded by a former securities industry CFO, the company aims to revolutionise the OTC securities industry with EDC’s applications which integrate the Bitcoin and Bitmessage protocols with Equibit, a decentralised securities register that boasts a number of benefits including the ability to issue shares, communicate with shareholders, and collect votes in real-time at a minimal cost.

According to EDC in their press release, the investment offering was open for less than two months and the company will use the funds to accelerate development and launch their products by hiring additional developers, they also plan to launch marketing campaigns with the objective of promoting the company to investors, issuers and industry regulators.
